De Strijd
Buitenman praat over zijn zoektochten, zijn ontdekkingen, zijn gedachten, zijn strijd met de weerbarstige materie. Wanneer is een schilderij geslaagd? Wanneer is hij tevreden? Zat de euforie al in de (computer)schets vooraf, of komt deze als het schilderij is voltooid? Wat ging er fout? Waarom zag hij een schilderij in aanleg niet zitten? Was hij ten einde raad om er uiteindelijk toch mooie dingen in te ontdekken? En het te exposeren? En te verkopen?
The Battle
Buitenman talks about his quests, his discoveries, his thoughts, his stride with the difficult matter. When is a painting finished? When is he satisfied? Was the Euforia already in the (computer)sketch upfront? Or will it come when the painting is completely finished? What went wrong? Why did the artist not like a new painting? Was he Was he at a loss, to discover beautiful things in it after all? And to expose it, to eventually sell it?
